Our Story
Company Background
Kerupuk Lelek Enterprise Sdn Bhd was established in 2014 in Kampung Jawa Tawau, Sabah. Main production for the company are Amplang products; which is a fish-based snack renowned among Sabahans.
The company started with Amplang processing on a medium scale to meet demand throughout Sabah. Fast forward, in 2019, the company moved to a well-constructed building situated in Taman Perindustrian Prima Jaya Tawau, Sabah. With this, we are able to increase the Amplang production to meet market demand. Hence, we also introduced new products — a variety of seafood snacks.
Our company is always committed to ensuring that the products produced are of high quality and safe to be consumed by our consumers. In recognition of the importance of safety and quality, we applied for the Makanan Selamat Tanggungjawab Industri (MeSTI) certification scheme at the end of 2019 and obtained it in early 2020. In the same year, our company also obtained a Halal certification, demonstrating our responsibility as a food manufacturer.
Now, we have been in this industry for almost 8 years and have an extensive market reach including Singapore and Brunei. Among our marketed products, the most famous are the Amplang Original Fish Crackers and Amplang Prawn Flavor Crackers. In the near future, our company aims to introduce our local snacks to more countries with a variety of flavours.
